MANSUR, M., SALAMAH, A., MIRMANTO, E. & BREARLEY, F. Q. 2022. Nutrient concentrations in three Nepenthes species (Nepenthaceae) from North Sumatra. Reinwardtia 21(2): 55‒62. — is a genus of carnivorous plants that are unique ornamental plants, but their nutrient concentration relationships have not been studied much, especially endemic on the island So far, analysis mostly limited to leaves. There few reports pitcher fluid and soil around where it grows. Leaves, fluid, growth sites each i.e., sumatrana, N. spectabilis, tobaica, Sumatra province were collected for analyses (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na). The results showed leaves generally low with those greater than fluid. nutrients sumatrana (lowland species) was least (except N Na) when compared spectabilis tobaica (highland species), likely reflecting poorly fertile soil. In contrast, tobaica. When across an extensive data set, we show leaf does change elevation, whereas P declines N:P ratio increases suggesting obtaining sufficient prey at higher elevations.

Four New Species of Nepenthes L. (Nepenthaceae) from the Central Mountains of Mindanao, Philippines
Together with the islands of Sumatra (Indonesia) and Borneo (Indonesia, Malaysia), the Philippines are the main center of diversity for carnivorous pitcher plants of the genus, Nepenthes L. Nepenthes are the largest of all carnivorous plants, and the species with the biggest pitchers are capable of trapping and digesting small amphibians and even mammals. The central cordillera of Mindanao Isla...
متن کاملTwo New Nepenthes Species from the Philippines and an Emended Description of Nepenthes ramos
With 50 species of the genus Nepenthes L. currently described from the Philippines, it is without doubt that the country, along with the islands of Sumatra (Indonesia) and Borneo (Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei), should be considered the center of diversity of the genus. In this work, we describe two new species. One species, N. aenigma sp. nov., is from Ilocos Norte province on Luzon Island and h...

متن کاملIso-Seq analysis of Nepenthes ampullaria, Nepenthes rafflesiana and Nepenthes × hookeriana for hybridisation study in pitcher plants
Tropical pitcher plants in the species-rich Nepenthaceae family of carnivorous plants possess unique pitcher organs. Hybridisation, natural or artificial, in this family is extensive resulting in pitchers with diverse features. The pitcher functions as a passive insect trap with digestive fluid for nutrient acquisition in nitrogen-poor habitats. This organ shows specialisation according to the ...
